DA NANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ORGANIZES PROGRAM TO RAISE AWARENESS ON AVIATION SECURITY AND SAFETY IN 2024

Following Plan No. 3671/CHK-UBANHK dated July 23, 2024, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) - Office of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee, from September 9-13, 2024, Da Nang International Airport collaborated with the Aviation Security Department - CAAV to organize a training course on "Aviation Security Crisis Management".

 

The event was attended by Mr. Do Hong Cam - Deputy Director of CAAV, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung - Deputy General Director of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), Mr. Phan Kieu Hung - Director of Da Nang International Airport, Mr. Hoang Huu Cuong - Deputy Director of Da Nang International Airport, and representatives from various departments of CAAV and ACV. Notably, ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) experts were present, including Mr. Tony Blackiston - Chief Representative, Senior Advisor of the Asia-Pacific Aviation Security Cooperation Program, and Ms. Lee Lita - Assistant of the Asia-Pacific Aviation Security Cooperation Program.

 

 

The main content of the training course includes: Aviation security organization system and risk management; guidance on developing simulation scenarios according to the comprehensive plan for responding to unlawful interference in civil aviation activities under the Prime Minister's Decisions 16/2017/QD-TTg and 01/2019/QD-TTg; cybersecurity assurance, state secrets protection, and aviation customer personal data protection for advisory staff and direct aviation emergency response forces who are members of the Counter-terrorism Steering Committees in provinces and cities with airports.

 

During the training, trainees attended lectures by ICAO experts on crisis management context, concepts and planning of crisis management, management team, and crisis facilities. Additionally, trainees were given ample time for program testing and practical activities.

 

This is the 1st Course of the training program held at Da Nang International Airport. Course II is scheduled to take place from September 16 to September 20, 2024, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.
