AI applications in aviation workshop

As digital transformation reshapes industries worldwide, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key driver in optimizing airport operations and enhancing the passenger experience. In response to this trend, Da Nang International Airport recently collaborated with the Center for Informatics – University of Science and Technology (University of Danang) to host a workshop introducing AI applications in the aviation sector.

The event aimed to broaden perspectives and share expert insights on how AI can be effectively applied in airport operation. 

What we learned
Experts shared some exciting examples of how AI is already making a difference in aviation:

• Smart coordination on the ground – helping reduce delays and manage aircraft movements more smoothly
• Facial recognition – speeding up check-in and security processes
• Real-time passenger data – helping airports predict busy times and plan resources better
• Chatbots and smart baggage tracking – giving passengers quicker answers and more peace of mind
• AI in operations – helping teams make better decisions, faster

These solutions are all about one thing: making the airport experience better for everyone.

What’s next
The workshop also marked the start of more collaboration between Da Nang International Airport and local tech and education partners. In the near future, we plan to work more closely with the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City to support open innovation and bring more smart ideas to life—both in aviation and beyond.
