Da Nang International Airport Welcomes the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital

On July 28, Da Nang International Airport welcomed the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, marking the official launch of the 2026 Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Program. The program strengthens cooperation in eye care between Orbis International, Da Nang City, and its partners.

The opening ceremony took place at the VIP Guest House of Da Nang International Airport. Representatives from the Ministry of Health, Da Nang City, Orbis International, FedEx, and other organizations attended the event.

The program takes place on an MD-10 aircraft supported by FedEx and converted into a flying hospital and eye care training center. During its three-week stay in Da Nang, more than 20 experts from 7 countries will train over 230 Vietnamese doctors and nurses. The training includes practical surgery, medical simulations, and professional workshops to help improve eye care in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.

The program supports patients, especially those in difficult circumstances. It also helps eye care professionals improve their skills and gives more people access to quality eye care services.

The year 2026 marks 30 years of Orbis working with Vietnam’s eye care sector. During this time, Orbis has trained more than 40,000 eye care professionals, helped over 5.2 million people access eye care services, and carried out more than 139,000 surgeries to protect and restore sight.

By supporting this program, Da Nang International Airport continues its commitment to safe and smooth airport operations. The airport also aims to improve service quality and provide passengers with a convenient, professional, and welcoming travel experience.
