Groundbreaking for New Cargo Terminal at Da Nang International Airport

Da Nang, August 30, 2025 – This morning, Da Nang International Airport held a groundbreaking ceremony to start building a new cargo terminal on the northern side of the airport. This project is an important step to expand the airport’s facilities and meet the fast-growing demand for cargo transport.

The project “Construction of Cargo Terminal – Da Nang International Airport” was approved on August 14, 2025. It will cover more than 24,600 m², including about 14,200 m² for the terminal building, with the rest used for loading areas and parking. The total investment is about VND 631 billion (~USD 24 million), carried out by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). When completed, the terminal will be able to handle 100,000 tons of cargo per year, with this capacity expected to be reached by 2030.

This project is part of a bigger plan to improve the airport’s infrastructure, including expanding Passenger Terminal T1 and developing the northern area of the airport. Construction is planned from Q4 2025 to Q4 2026.

The new cargo terminal will not only increase cargo handling capacity but also show a strong commitment to modernizing air logistics. With a capacity of up to 100,000 tons each year, the terminal will support trade, promote imports and exports, and strengthen Da Nang’s connections with both domestic and international markets.
