DA NANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IMPLEMENTS ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION (ETC) AND CASHLESS PAYMENT SYSTEMS

Following the directive from Airports Corporation of Vietnam, since July 18, 2024, Da Nang International Airport has transformed its old Manual Toll Collection (MTC) system to a new system featuring Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) and cashless payment capabilities at all airport exit lanes.

All vehicles with valid e-Tag ETC stickers and sufficient ETC account balance will have their fees automatically calculated and deducted from their ETC accounts at the exit lanes. Vehicle owners with existing ETC accounts used on national highways and expressways can pass through airport exit lanes without requiring additional tags or procedures, as these systems are synchronously integrated. The fees collected through the ETC system remain unchanged at current rates, with no additional costs for vehicle owners.

Currently, at Nguyen Van Linh Road exit, the Airport has arranged 2 mixed ETC/MTC lanes and 2 ETC/priority lanes. At Duy Tan Road exit, the Airport has arranged 2 mixed ETC/MTC lanes and 1 ETC/priority lane. To ensure optimal toll station operation, vehicles should use the correct lanes when passing through Da Nang International Airport's exit lanes. In cases where the ETC account balance is insufficient for payment or vehicles have not installed e-Tag ETC stickers, customers can pay by cash, QR code scanning, or bank card through POS machines located at each exit lane booth.

For vehicles without ETC tags, Da Nang International Airport has collaborated with ETC service providers VETC and VDTC to organize e-Tag installation and provide customer support at the airport to improve system operational efficiency.

According to initial observations since implementation, the automatic toll collection and cashless payment systems have achieved certain positive results, helping reduce congestion and enabling smoother vehicle flow. The implementation of ETC and cashless payment systems will further enhance service quality at Da Nang International Airport, affirming the commitment to promoting digital transformation and modernization of airports under Airports Corporation of Vietnam.
