Welcoming the Canadian delegation at Da Nang International Airport

On December 11, 2024, Da Nang International Airport had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Canadian Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and enhance support for Canadian citizens in both routine matters and emergency situations.

The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of Da Nang International Airport, along with representatives from various airport departments.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in open and collaborative discussions, focusing on the following key topics:

- The airport’s scale and development plans for the future.
- Operational updates, including the number of domestic and international routes, flight volumes, and airlines currently operating at the airport.
- Regulations and updates for international passengers traveling to and from the airport.
- Common challenges faced by international passengers and effective solutions to address these issues.
- Emergency medical support procedures to ensure passenger safety at the airport.
- Coordination mechanisms for handling emergencies, involving collaboration between the airport operator and government agencies such as the Central Region Airport Authority, Immigration Police, and Customs.

The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for closer collaboration between the two parties. Looking ahead, this partnership is expected to drive the development of new air routes connecting Vietnam and Canada, further enriching the strategic relationship between the two nations.

This visit holds particular significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada, marking an important milestone in their growing partnership.
