"Ky uc Hội An" show (Hoi An’s memories) is a must-see spectacle that brings over 400 years of history to life through a mesmerizing blend of art forms. This grand outdoor performance is not only the largest of its kind in Vietnam but also a cultural gem that you shouldn't miss when visiting this ancient town. If you have an evening to spare, let this enchanting show take you on a journey back in time.

What awaits you at "Ky uc Hoi An"?

"Ky uc Hoi An" will bring you back to the 16th and 17th centuries, unraveling the historical and cultural progression of this land within a 65-minute series of performances. Set on an expansive 25,000-square-meter outdoor stage encompassing large and small islands and a part of the Hoai River, the stage of this show is meticulously crafted to recreate the serene yet vibrant spirit of Hội An from its early days. The props and models are designed at a 1:1 scale, combined with stunning light effects and 3D technology, offering a truly immersive and time-well-spent experience. The show is divided into five main acts, each narrating a distinct theme throughout Hoi An's development:

  • Part 1: Birth - This segment illustrates the formation of Hoi An town, focusing on daily life and the construction along the Thu Bon River.
  • Part 2: Wedding - Here, you'll witness the beautiful cultural and religious wedding traditions of the Champa people.
  • Part 3: Boats and Sea - This part evokes the longing and emotional reunions of sailors returning home after long voyages.
  • Part 4: Dockside - Experience the bustling trade scenes at Hoi An's international market in the past.
  • Part 5: Ao Dai - A tribute to the timeless beauty of Hoi An, showcasing the elegance of the traditional Vietnamese dress across eras.

With minimal dialogue and a focus on performance art, international visitors can easily enjoy and appreciate the show without language barriers.

Tips for enjoying “Ky uc Hoi An” show

The show takes place in “Con Hen”, which is about 2 km from the Hoi An ancient town. Here are three ways to get there:

  1. For groups of fewer than 16 people: Cross the Cam Nam Bridge and head to 159 Nguyen Tri Phuong Street. From there, you can see the “An Tuong Hoi An Bridge” leading to the park near the place where the show is held.
  2. For groups larger than 16 people: Cross the Hoi An Moonlight Bridge at 88 Tran Quang Khai Street.
  3. Boat Combo Tickets: Purchase a combo ticket that includes a boat ride from the ancient town to the show.

  • Showtime: 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM daily, except Tuesdays.

Important Notes:

  • Both the "Ky uc Hoi An" show and the An Tuong Hoi An theme park are located on the same islet. Ensure you buy the correct tickets.
  • Filming and photography are not allowed during the performance.
  • As the show is outdoors, consider bringing an umbrella and checking the weather forecast. In cases of severe storms, the show will be canceled, and tickets will be refunded.
